About us:
Innisfail Hospital services include emergency department, general medical and surgical, low risk maternity (3 beds), chemotherapy (4 chairs), and renal dialysis (8 chairs). Innisfail Hospital has 49 inpatient beds and 7 emergency department treatment spaces. Beds include three high dependency unit beds and ten same day beds/bed alternatives.
The hospital serves a population of over 8000 people and is 1.5 hours' drive from Cairns. The Innisfail region is renowned for spectacular waterfalls, fishing, Mission Beach, the Family Islands, and World Heritage rainforest.

About your role:
- Manage appointment booking services, processing referrals, sourcing and retrieving patient information, and scheduling appointments in a timely and efficient manner in line with clinician specifications and the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service's “Administrative Procedure Manual”.
- Proficiently complete functions associated with the wait listing of patients, bookings for procedures/appointments, referral forms and letters, managing procedure/appointment cancellations, rescheduling and removals from the waiting list using the relevant information systems in a timely manner eg.; ESM and Smart Referrals.
- Maintain the waiting list by ensuring accurate and complete additions, amendments, ongoing verification and appropriate delegations to align with the Specialist Outpatient Service Implementation Standard (SOSIS).
