Revenue Optimisation Officer

The Revenue Optimisation Officer is responsible for delivering an efficient and customer-focused private practice revenue function. This includes managing processes such as invoicing, clinic preparation, maintaining patient accounts, ensuring the accuracy of information systems, extracting data, and compiling reports for Children’s Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service. The role also ensures the integrity and effectiveness of revenue collection processes, supporting the maximisation and growth of private practice revenue while maintaining financial compliance and accuracy across the Health Service.

About the Team

Own Source Revenue (OSR) refers to income generated directly by the health service, independent of government appropriations. At the Children's Health Queensland (CHQ) the OSR team manages funding opportunities from the following sources:

  • Non-Patient Revenue 
  • Private Practice Billing 
  • Private Inpatient Revenue 
  • Bulk Billing Revenue 
  • Non-eligible Patient Revenue 
  • Compensable Patient Revenue 
  • Own Source Revenue (OSR) 

About the Role

In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:

  • Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland's Health core values, as outlined above.
  • Ensure compliance of all relevant legislation, policies and procedures within a financial environment. Such as the Financial Management Practice Manual (FMPM);
  • Demonstrate knowledge, or ability to acquire knowledge, of recognised policies, procedures and legislative requirements relating to Private Practice arrangements and billing compliance including the Rights of Private Practice and Medicare Benefits Schedule;
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience of revenue and corporate patient information and billing systems such as MediRecords, HBCIS, ieMR, and ESM;
  • Ensure high standard of service is provided to all clients internal and external within acceptable timeframes as required in a confidential manner;
