Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers an area of 142,900 square kilometres. We go as far as Tully in the south, Cow Bay in the north and Croydon in the west. In partnership with the McGrath Foundation, we deliver dedicated Breast Care Services to support individuals and their families at every stage of the breast cancer journey. Our service provides expert clinical care, practical guidance, and compassionate emotional support, ensuring patients feel informed, empowered, and well-supported during a challenging time. Together, we are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer.
About you:
In your new role you will......
- Provide specialised breast care services and support to women/men and their families in accordance with evidence based best practice guidelines.
- Collaborate and work closely with the exisiting Breast Care Nurse/McGrath Breast Care Nurse to continue to evolve the Breast Care Service within the Cairns and Hinterland region.
- Provide current information about treatment modalities, counselling services, support groups, and practical assistance to women/men with breast cancer and their families.
- Collect, maintain, and report data relating to client contracts and education activities.
