Role details
The Medical Workforce Recruitment at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Workforce Recruitment Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity
This role will play a key role in supporting safe, high-quality care for patients by coordinating advertising, recruitment and onboarding functions for Medical Officers across Mackay Hospital and Health Service. Working collaboratively with Clinical Leaders, and Operations, you'll ensure service continuity while balancing recruitment activity and industrial compliance. This role is integral to maintaining a well-organised medical workforce and fostering collaboration across departments.
About the Team
The Medical Workforce Unit provides leadership and support for medical workforce planning, recruitment, employment, contracts, allocations, and rostering at Mackay Hospital and Health Service. Our team works collaboratively with clinical leaders and operational directors to ensure safe, high-quality care through effective workforce management. We coordinate junior doctor allocations and rosters, manage recruitment, employment contracts, and credentialing processes for medical officers, including locums, that support both pre-vocational, vocational and specialist medical officers.
