About us:

Building, Engineering and Maintenance Services (BEMS) operates from its main hub in Rockhampton, with teams supporting facilities across the Banana, Central Highlands and Gladstone regions. Our in-house trade services include electrical, plumbing and refrigeration maintenance, ensuring essential infrastructure remains safe, reliable and fit for purpose.

Our team delivers comprehensive preventative maintenance programs, including statutory inspections and compliance activities required under relevant legislation, codes of practice and Australian Standards. In addition, BEMS provides a 24/7 corrective maintenance and breakdown response service, supporting healthcare facilities throughout the Gladstone and Banana regions.

About the role:

  • Use your electrical trade skills to keep hospital facilities and essential services running safely and reliably for patients, staff and visitors.
  • Enjoy a varied workload, from fault finding and repairs to installations, upgrades and working alongside contractors on maintenance projects.
  • Be part of a supportive team that values safety, quality and compliance, helping maintain healthcare environments to the highest standards.
  • Take on meaningful work beyond day-to-day maintenance, including after-hours support, emergency response and assisting during disaster events when needed.
  • Build your skills and experience through ongoing training, cross-trade opportunities and the chance to work across a range of healthcare facilities throughout the region.

About you:

  • Hold an Electrical Trade qualification, current Queensland Electrical Licence, White Card, and current Working at Heights and Confined Space certifications.
  • Bring strong hands-on electrical experience, ideally within healthcare, commercial or similarly complex facilities environments.
  • Be able to manage competing priorities, work independently and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes within required timeframes.
  • Have a solid understanding of workplace safety legislation, Australian Standards and compliance requirements, with a commitment to maintaining safe and accredited healthcare facilities.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $103,065 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $36.92 - $45.55 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
