About us:
The Child Development Service is a community-based, transdisciplinary paediatric allied health service providing early assessment and intervention for children aged 0–16 years. The service supports families to understand their child's developmental delay or disability and connect with appropriate early intervention and community support, delivering evidence-based care for children with developmental differences and complex needs.
Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers an area of 142,900 square kilometres. We go as far as Tully in the south, Cow Bay in the north and Croydon in the west.
About your opportunity:
In this role you will......
- Lead and participate in service quality improvement and research activities at the team and program level, contributing to the continual evolution and enhancement of services provided and improved health outcomes for children and families
- Engage in problem solving for specialised clinical services of a complex and critical nature, providing clinical expertise and independent professional judgement in caseload management across developmental domains.
- Apply high-level clinical knowledge and judgement to ensure the delivery of quality, evidence-based clinical services and contemporary practice for a multi-disciplinary Child Development Service team in the areas of child health, developmental disorders and disability.
- Utilise effective communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong working relationships, influence organisational culture, and achieve key performance indicators.
