About the Role

This position represents senior clinical practice at its most impactful, calling for experienced and culturally capable Clinical Nurse Consultants to lead advanced acute and primary health care across Cape York. Whether you are seeking a permanent role to build a lasting legacy or a temporary placement to strengthen your remote leadership skills, the experience you gain here will shape your career for years to come.

As the clinical lead within a Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC), you will provide autonomous, high‑level clinical care while offering vital mentorship and guidance to nursing staff. Working within the Torres Model of Care, you will oversee clinical governance and ensure safe, high‑quality practice across the service. A key part of the role is working in deep partnership with Indigenous Health Workers to deliver culturally responsive, community‑centred care that reflects the needs, strengths and expectations of each community.

TCHHS strongly welcomes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nurses, recognising that cultural knowledge, lived experience and community connection are essential strengths that enrich the care delivered throughout Cape York.

Benefits and Allowances

  • Base salary: $139,951 – $151,949 per annum
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • Generous leave entitlements, including 17.5% annual leave loading
  • Relocation and accommodation incentives
  • Remote Area Nursing Incentive Package - if applicable
