What your day could look like
As a Clinical Nurse in Child and Youth Mental Health, you'll play a vital role in strengthening the wellbeing of young people and families across the rural community. From delivering therapeutic care to guiding a collaborative team, your work will shape safer, more connected outcomes for those who need it most.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Delivering high-quality, evidence-based mental health care and case management that supports recovery and resilience
  • Leading clinical decision-making and partnering with multidisciplinary teams to achieve meaningful outcomes
  • Building strong relationships with families, carers and community services to coordinate holistic care
  • Driving quality improvements and sharing knowledge to enhance care standards and team capability

You're a confident and compassionate clinician who leads with integrity and purpose. You bring sound clinical judgement, think critically in complex situations and know how to connect with young people and families in a way that builds trust. You'll feel proud knowing your work helps shape better futures while contributing to a supportive rural health network.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Strong experience in mental health care, including assessment, planning and case management
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead within multidisciplinary teams
  • Skilled in risk assessment, decision-making and delivering safe, high-quality care

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in rural or community mental health settings and/or postgraduate qualifications or credentials in mental health nursing.

Above all, you'll bring compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage to every interaction, helping create a positive impact for young people and their families.
