What your day could look like

As a Registered Nurse in the Day Oncology Unit, you'll play a vital role in supporting people through some of their most challenging moments. From delivering specialised treatments to partnering with a multidisciplinary team, your work helps create safer, more positive outcomes for patients and their families.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Delivering personalised, evidence-based care plans that support safe treatment and recovery outcomes
  • Partnering with doctors and allied health professionals to coordinate high-quality cancer care
  • Guiding patients and families through education and support that builds confidence and understanding
  • Strengthening care standards through risk awareness, quality improvement, and clinical insight

Let's talk about you!

You bring both clinical confidence and genuine compassion to your work. You thrive in a team where every decision matters and every interaction can improve someone's experience. You're someone who takes pride in delivering safe, thoughtful care, while supporting others and growing your own expertise in a specialised environment. You're not just here to provide care—you're here to make a lasting difference for patients navigating cancer treatment.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with a valid practising certificate
  • Proven ability to deliver safe, evidence-based care in a clinical setting
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
  • Sound clinical judgement and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in oncology care and/or a relevant postgraduate qualification.

Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health: compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation, and courage—helping to create care experiences that truly matter.

Together, you'll help deliver safe, compassionate cancer care that supports better outcomes for every patient.
