Engagement & Communications Officer
This is an exciting opportunity to enable meaningful communication with staff and students by delivering key messaging through innovative strategies across TAFE Queensland’s Gold Coast region.  In this collaborative role, you will create and facilitate impactful engagement initiatives that strengthen staff and student connection with TAFE Queensland.
This position reports to the Manager, Engagement & Communications.  This is a permanent, full-time AO4 position, primarily based at our Ashmore campus with travel across the Gold Coast region's campuses required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement strategies that facilitate students’ engagement and active participation at TAFE Queensland Gold Coast which will result in a positive educational experience that enhance students’ capacity to succeed. 
  • Plan and implement internal staff communications, as well as engagement activities including but not restricted to events and surveys. 
  • Plan and implement a region wide reward and recognition framework to enhance the employee value proposition and position the organisation to that of an employer of choice. 
  • Undertake research and development on matters relating to business functions. 
  • Ensure day to day activities align with business operations. 
  • Contribute to improvement in business processes and practices. 
  • Model and actively promote an ethical and safe work environment that supports a culture of zero harm and best practice regarding health, safety, wellness and sustainability. 
  • Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Showing Initiative, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer and Taking Responsibility.

How You Will Be Assessed
Within the context of the key responsibilities above, the ideal applicant will demonstrate the following key capabilities:

  1. The ability to produce high level clear, effective and targeted communication, including on digital platforms.
  2. Excellent planning skills, with an appreciation for methodical processes that mitigate risk, evidenced through experience in event co-ordination and/or project management 
  3. Provide and implement innovative engagement strategies for both staff and students. 
  4. Client focussed with good analytical and conceptual skills that deliver results 
  5. Initiative, energy, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.

Mandatory Qualifications & Requirements
This position does not have any mandatory requirements, however current skills and experience with digital communication and event management online systems and with editing and drafting of digital communications for diverse audiences will be highly regarded.
