About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Experience in leading and managing a Medicine service
- Commitment to the principles of quality in health care including leading initiatives relating to quality improvement, research, risk management, service evaluation and strategic service delivery planning
- Consider of whole of Hospital and Health Service vision and values when making decisions and leading the Acute Medicine & Older Persons Service
- Extensive clinical experience with appropriate knowledge and skills extending across the range of Medicine disciplines, with an ability to deliver quality speciality care to patients in a clinical setting including directing the process of assessment, admission, ongoing care, transfer and discharge of patients
- Contribute to the establishment and fostering of relationships within the medical specialities of the Medicine Department, between the Department and other Hospital and Health Service departments and services to ensure the continuum of care for the patient.
- Commitment to leading the performance, development and evaluation of the education programme for clinicians at an undergraduate and post graduate level
- Applied sound business management skills in order to plan and control the financial function of the service and manage within the allocated budget
- Enables collaboration and enhances connectivity in the provision of a Medicine Service within a multi-disciplinary team by demonstrating effective communication and promoting understanding, respect and trust between different groups and professions
