Scientist Anatomical Pathology - Histology
Chermside
You will be an experienced Scientist, who undertakes duties with a high level of independence. You will be responsible for performing and validating a broad range of complex and varied histological, cytological and immunohistochemical investigations consistently and accurately. You will bring advanced scientific knowledge and well-developed clinical interpretative skills, enabling you to provide expert advice and act as a key resource within the department. In addition to your technical expertise, you will play a leadership role in supporting continuous improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of staff and services.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in Anatomical Pathology techniques and its application in a diagnostic laboratory.
- Demonstrated ability (or ability to rapidly acquire the skill) to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation / certification.
- Proven willingness and ability to actively participate in and contribute to continuing education and other professional development activities.
- Proven ability to work and communicate effectively within a team environment to achieve the goals of the work unit including the meeting of critical deadlines.
- Demonstrated high levels of attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks within the anatomical pathology laboratory
- Availability to participate in roster system across the operating hours of the department
