Your Opportunity

As the International Marketing and Communications Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Provide communications and marketing support to TAFE Queensland International Education team, with a focus on developing assets and collateral to support revenue growth and brand awareness across global markets and internal teams. 
  • Plan, collaborate and execute marketing, communication and social media activities to support the TAFE Queensland International Education Team, both onshore and offshore.
  • Develop, foster and manage strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders in the international education industry and within the TAFE Queensland network.

This position reports to the Manager, Performance and Communications.

This is a Temporary, Full-Time opportunity, to 18 December 2026 unless otherwise determined.

The position will be based primarily at South Brisbane however, you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate marketing tasks and activities based on established priorities delivering agreed outcomes on time and within budget, with the ability to pivot in line with shifting requirements, collaborating across TAFE Queensland International Education business units.
  • Represent TAFE Queensland International Education across relevant TAFE Queensland marketing and events networks to inform and support business requirements.  Provide advice on marketing processes, procedures and workflows, and review existing marketing processes looking for efficiency and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Be the first point of contact for TQIE to develop and execute international specific marketing collateral and campaigns, communications, engagement strategies and projects in line with the key international strategy objectives, ensuring accuracy of all materials, relevancy to the required markets adhering to TAFE Queensland Branding and Content Guidelines. 
  • Develop and execute an effective digital and social media plan and content with a key focus on student acquisition and monitoring of social media channels (both onshore and offshore) applying the latest marketing strategies, technologies and trends.
  • Development and execution of internal communication plans and content for the TAFE Queensland International Education team and Senior International Leadership Team.
  • Provide event and meeting support, including the preparation of presentations, speaking notes, and other collateral, as well as room bookings, preparation of agendas and other coordinating activities as required.  
  • Research, analyse and report on TAFE Queensland International Education marketing campaigns including digital, and emerging trends on key marketing initiatives to maximise opportunity for growth and contribute to market intelligence gathering and best practice methods. 
  • Establish and maintain external supplier and other stakeholder relationships to collaborate and maximise the opportunity for marketing TAFE Queensland effectively and in line with budget and procurement requirements. 
  • Understand and keep up-to-date with student visa conditions, the ESOS Act and relevant international related legislations that affect marketing activities to international students. 
  • Coordinate, organise and implement the planning of event activities and services for TAFE Queensland International students and stakeholders, and represent TAFE Queensland at International Education events, agent fairs and expos.
  • Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the values of Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative

How you will be assessed

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

  1. Demonstrated high-level written marketing and communication skills and the ability to produce content across a variety of marketing communication platforms.
  2. Demonstrated project management and organisational skills, including the ability to develop plans, gather information, set priorities and negotiate outcomes, schedule activities, and meet deadlines within a busy and demanding marketing environment.
  3. Highly developed interpersonal communication skills including the ability to establish positive and productive working relationships within the work group and with internal and external stakeholders and industry. 
  4. Displays flexibility and responsiveness and has the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.
  5. Well-developed understanding of the designated target market including culture and cultural protocols, relevant legislations, standards, regulations and guidelines.

Highly Desirable Requirements

  • Applicants should possess the attributes necessary to obtain visa clearance to travel on an ad hoc basis.
