About us:
Allied Health Services at Central Queensland Health play an essential role in optimizing patient recovery and well-being across our regional facilities. Our dedicated Speech Pathology team provides vital inpatient and outpatient clinical services—including specialized instrumental assessments like VFSS and FEES, and diagnostic audiology support. Operating with a shared commitment to continuous improvement, clinical excellence, and deep community partnerships, we work collaboratively to ensure every Central Queenslander receives the highest standard of care close to home.
About the role:
- Provide high-level clinical governance, professional leadership, and strategic direction for Speech Pathology staff across Central Queensland.
- Operationally manage nominated work units and teams, overseeing human resource management and financial cost centers.
- Develop, implement, and review innovative, evidence-based service models for Speech Pathology and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Maintain and evaluate safety and quality practices, ensuring strict compliance with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
- Drive workforce planning and capability strategies to attract, retain, develop, and motivate a skilled regional workforce.
About you:
- You hold a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Speech Pathology and possess relevant professional registration or membership.
- You bring highly developed clinical knowledge, expertise, and complex case management skills to guide workload allocation and clinical decision-making.
- You possess proven experience in the operational, financial, human resource, and strategic management of an allied health team.
- You are an expert communicator with well-developed negotiation, consultation, and conflict management skills.
- You have a demonstrated ability to build, motivate, and maintain high-functioning, collaborative teams to navigate change effectively.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $14,385 p.m. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $73.12 - $76.30 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
