About us:
Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers an area of 142,900 square kilometres. We go as far as Tully in the south, Cow Bay in the north and Croydon in the west.
The Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Service (AAMHIS) also known as Jugarrbaajing (Unsettled Mind) is 53 bedded inpatient service and caters for varying degrees of mental health issues and clinical acuity ranging from moderate to high and accommodates according to level of clinical need. The service strives to deliver care in a quick and efficient manner, using best evidence-based care and aims to minimise the length of stay in hospital to minimise the disruption to normal daily life and function of our consumers in a holistic manner.
About you:
In your new role you will......
- Participate in developing, evaluating, and updating clinical service procedures, protocols, standards and guidelines.
- Engage in incident reporting/investigation and conduct and apply quality improvement frameworks and audits and develop risk minimisation strategies/activities to promote safe and/or rectify unsafe practice.
- Provide support, guidance, mentoring, preceptorship, role modelling and promote cooperation and collaborative teamwork.
- Assist and support the Nurse Grade 7 in contemporary human, material, and financial resource management.
- Participate in developing and undertaking quality initiatives, clinical audits, clinical trials, and research.
