About the role
Position of Staff Specialist/Consultant Psychiatrist will support the development, clinical governance and clinical activity within the Adult Mental Health Service, at West Moreton Hospital and Health Service (West Moreton HHS) with a focus on the needs of consumers presenting with acute mental health needs.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Extensive knowledge, expertise and skill in the assessment and clinical management of people with mental illness in a specialised mental health service setting.
- high level interpersonal, communication, consultation and negotiation skills including the ability to provide high level clinical leadership, advice and direction within a multidisciplinary team and to relevant stakeholders.
- Commitment to leading mental health recovery model of care, evidence based practice and continuous quality improvement to enhance service delivery outcomes.
- Expert knowledge of National and State Mental Health directions and legislation relevant to the provision of specialist mental health services.
- experience in the provision of effective training to junior medical staff.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry or equivalent postgraduate specialist qualification.
- Current registration to practice as a specialist in psychiatry with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Medical Board of Australia.
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
