About us:
Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS) delivers specialist mental health, alcohol and other drug care across Rockhampton, the Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana regions. With services spanning community, inpatient and residential settings, including the Adult Step Up Step Down service in Gladstone and Community Care Unit in Rockhampton - the service provides comprehensive, recovery-focused care close to home.
Now entering an exciting new chapter, CQMHAODS is preparing to open a purpose-built 32-bed Adult Inpatient Mental Health Service at Rockhampton Hospital, expanding access to contemporary specialist care for communities across CQ.

About the role:
- Deliver evidence-based psychosocial assessments, therapeutic interventions and recovery-focused social work services within the Mental Health Inpatient Unit.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive assessment, care planning, case management, discharge planning and coordinated transitions to community services.
- Support consumers and their families by facilitating access to community supports, including NDIS and other external providers, to promote successful recovery beyond hospital.
- Drive continuous improvement by participating in quality initiatives, developing clinical practices and engaging in ongoing professional development to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
About you:
- Eligible for AASW membership via a tertiary Social Work qualification, with no outstanding ethical, competency, or disciplinary issues.
- Demonstrated experience delivering Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs social work across inpatient and outpatient settings, working independently across the continuum of care.
- Strong ability to prioritise workload, work autonomously, and provide clinical supervision and mentoring to students and less experienced staff.
- Proven skills in multidisciplinary teamwork, communication, advocacy, quality improvement, and contributing to service development, evaluation, and continuous learning.
What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $11,047 p.m. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $43.68 - $58.59 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
