About the role

Provide advanced pharmacy assistant support within the Pharmacy Department at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, contributing to the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective pharmacy services. This role works in a ward-based clinical support capacity, assisting pharmacists in medication management processes and supporting patient care activities under supervision.

You will play a key role in facilitating medication supply, gathering patient medication information, and coordinating pharmaceutical stock within clinical areas. The role also includes supporting multidisciplinary teams, contributing to quality improvement initiatives, and assisting with training and mentoring of pharmacy assistant staff.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Support clinical pharmacists in medication management and patient care activities
  • Facilitate dispensing, supply, and stock management of medications
  • Collect and communicate medication-related information to support clinical decision making
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external healthcare providers
  • Contribute to staff training, service improvement, and quality activities
