About us:
The Rehabilitation Unit provides subacute services and is based on the Rockhampton Hospital Campus. It is a specialised area of care committed to restoring and maintaining the optimum level of function of the individual and significant others, enabling them to achieve their lifestyle goals.
The Rehabilitation Service relocated to a new purpose-built facility in September 2009. This facility has 16 inpatient beds and15 Day Hospital places (bed equivalents). Rehabilitation Services provides a 24/7 inpatient service and weekday business hours ambulatory services. The Rehabilitation service also provides outreach services to 4 step-down rehabilitation beds at the Capricorn Coast Hospital and Health Service, as well as Mt Morgan Hospital.
About the role:
- Provides advanced-level clinical leadership as a Clinical Nurse, coordinating patient care within a specialty area while supporting nursing and medical teams.
- Delivers high-quality, evidence-based nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring safe and patient-centred outcomes.
- Leads quality, safety, and continuous improvement activities, including adherence to policies, risk management, audits, and participation in service development.
- Supports education and professional development by mentoring staff, fostering a learning environment, and engaging in self-directed learning and reflective practice.
About you:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with a valid annual practising certificate (mandatory); postgraduate qualifications in the specialty are highly desirable.
- Proven clinical expertise with advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.
- Strong leadership skills with experience leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams while promoting contemporary nursing practice.
- Excellent communication and education skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff, build effective relationships, and communicate confidently with patients, colleagues, and the broader community.
What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $3,664 p.m. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $57.48 - $61.55 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
