What we're looking for
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Advanced knowledge of Occupational Therapy, its clinical application, and service delivery models involving disability, long stay and NDIS patients.
- Ability to apply professional judgement to problems of significant complex scope to determine functional needs of people with high physical support needs, to achieve safe discharge.
- Ability to independently implement advanced clinical and professional skills in the area of occupational performance and functional cognition assessments, equipment prescription and/or home modification recommendations for the NDIS participant. This includes completing relevant written reports to support NDIS participants for access, eligibility and planning purposes.
- Advanced communication and negotiation skills to ensure effective liaison between clinical services, participants/families and key stakeholders including partnership with the WMH Medical Transition and NDIS Nurse Navigator and Long Stay Patient Coordinators.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Appointment to this position requires proof of a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Occupational Therapy and full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist.
