About the role

Join the Protective Services team at The Prince Charles Hospital as a Security Officer, providing high-quality security, safety, and emergency response services across a major healthcare facility. This role plays a critical part in protecting patients, visitors, staff, property, and information, while supporting a safe and secure environment that enables the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.

You will respond to security incidents, emergency situations, and patient-related events, working closely with clinical teams and external emergency services when required. The role requires strong communication skills, sound judgement, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm under pressure while delivering a highly visible and responsive security presence across the hospital campus.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide comprehensive security, safety, and emergency response services across hospital facilities and grounds
  • Respond to incidents, emergencies, aggressive behaviours, and security-related matters in a professional and timely manner
  • Support patients, visitors, staff, and contractors while maintaining a safe and secure healthcare environment
  • Conduct patrols, access control activities, incident reporting, investigations, and asset protection duties
  • Work collaboratively with clinical teams, emergency services, and colleagues to achieve positive safety outcomes
