You will receive a competitive remuneration package value from $116,919 (L18) up to $146,084 (L27)comprising salary rates $106.39 p.h (L18) and $134.89 p.h. (L27), motor vehicle allowance, professional development allowance, professional development leave 3.6 weeks p.a., regional attraction allowance,professional indemnity cover and private practice arrangements. Superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) will be applied additionally to the total remuneration value.
What your day could look like
As a Staff Specialist General Medicine Geriatrician, you'll help older people receive the right care at the right time, supporting better health outcomes across hospital and community settings while working with a highly collaborative team.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Delivering specialist advice that supports safe, person-centred care for older patients.
- Partnering with multidisciplinary teams to achieve coordinated, seamless patient journeys.
- Leading quality improvement initiatives that enhance care, safety and service outcomes.
- Mentoring clinicians and contributing to education and research that strengthens future healthcare delivery.

You're an experienced specialist who combines clinical excellence with compassion, integrity and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of older people. You build strong relationships, lead with confidence and enjoy working collaboratively to create meaningful outcomes for patients, families and colleagues.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Geriatrics.
- AHPRA registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Specialist in Geriatrics.
- Expertise delivering high-quality care within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong communication, clinical governance and quality improvement skills.
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have dual training in General Medicine and experience in teaching, research or clinical leadership.
Together, you'll help deliver compassionate, innovative care that improves the health and wellbeing of older people across the Darling Downs.
