Senior Project Officer

The Senior Project Officer role will provide support to domestic and international project engagement activities which contribute to the development of evidence-based, innovative strategies, policies and programs to facilitate research, translation and commercialisation of health and medical research into practice in Queensland. This includes developing and delivering initiatives and strategies which maximise value from the Queensland Government’s strategic health relationships, building on Queensland health capabilities to improve health outcomes of Queenslanders.

Your key responsibilities:
- Research, prepare, and contribute to briefings, reports, submissions, presentations, and other documents to support government decision-making.
- Support and contribute to Domestic and International Partnerships' initiatives and activities, including hosting international delegations, organising workshops, showcase events, and site visits. Manage multiple tasks and achieve results within agreed timeframes.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal Queensland Health teams, other government departments, academic researchers, clinicians, health professionals and industry stakeholders, as well as interstate and international investors and collaborators, to ensure the successful delivery of programs and activities.
Role fit
The essential requirements for this role are:
- Demonstrated experience in project management and coordination activities to deliver outcomes within complex program or health system environments.
- High level written and oral communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to build relationships and influence outcomes.
- Strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to critically assess and interpret relevant research, policy and program issues, and
- Ability to work autonomously, flexibly and as a team member, prioritise work, achieve required outcomes and meet deadlines.
