The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Fellow (Hepatobiliary and General Surgery) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Manage acute admissions, inpatient care, outpatient clinics and clinical handover
- Advocate for the patient which includes protecting the patient, being the patient's voice and provision of quality care
- Participate in the supervision, training and professional development of Junior medical staff
- Work within and support the multi-disciplinary clinical team
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
- AHPRA Registration
- Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in general surgery (or equivalent overseas qualification) and be eligible for medical registration in Australia
- AHPRA Registration
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary part time (64 hours per fortnight)
- Base salary ranging from $87.99 -$96.96 per hour

The Unit services the entire Gold Coast and New South Wales areas. A well-established multidisciplinary team that boasts a close working relationship with other departments. Griffith University (co-located) and Bond University have undergraduate medical schools and post-graduate research programs as well as a large Private Hospital and clinic facilities also available.
