About us:

The Gladstone Integrated Service is located in Gladstone and consists of an Adult Mental Health Service, Child and Youth Mental Health Service, Step-Up-Step Down Unit and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service. The Gladstone Integrated Service provides specialised services for the population of Gladstone and the surrounding areas through a range of interventions including assessment, case management, therapeutic treatment, support, consultations and referrals. The service works in collaboration with the local hospitals, other mental health and alcohol and other drugs teams and with primary health, community and private sector providers to reduce symptoms and facilitate recovery. 

About the role:

  • Deliver discipline specific mental health clinical services, including mental state and risk assessment, triage, care planning and therapy interventions.
  • Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities, peer, professional and clinical supervision.
  • Actively participate in the collection of required data and use of clinical indicators to promote service development and quality improvement activities.
  • Actively participate in the single or multidisciplinary team including provision of outreach to surrounding teams within the CQMHAODS and participation in an extended hour's service.

About you:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a current annual nursing practicing certificate is essential.
  • An ability to provide mental health care, including risk assessment and triage, to clients with a complex mental illness including knowledge of the Queensland Mental Health Act 2016 and the National Standards for Mental Health Services.
  • A high level of effective interpersonal and therapeutic communication skills with the ability to effectively work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Ability or ability to rapidly acquire the skill to provide guidance to other professionals including provision of education.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $139,252 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $57.48 - $61.55 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
