About us:

Biloela Hospital is a 20-bed rural hospital delivering a broad range of inpatient, emergency, maternity, paediatric, surgical and palliative care services, supported by on-site radiography, pharmacy and multidisciplinary allied health teams.

Co-located with Banana Community Health, the service also provides child and youth health, cancer care, community nursing, telehealth and specialist outpatient clinics. Regular visiting specialists across areas including general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, mental health, dental, podiatry and drug and alcohol services ensure comprehensive, high-quality care close to home for the local community.

About the role:

  • Provide advanced clinical leadership and operational management across Biloela Hospital Acute Nursing and Banana Community Health, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.
  • Lead, support and develop multidisciplinary nursing teams through workforce planning, rostering, professional development, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and evidence-based practice.
  • Maintain advanced clinical expertise in acute nursing, including emergency response competencies, while supporting excellence in community health service delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing strategic direction, effective communication, and leadership to enhance health outcomes across the Banana Shire community.

About you:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, supported by strong acute clinical expertise across emergency, operating theatre and maternity care.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing acute and community health services, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care aligned with legislative, professional and Queensland Health standards.
  • Strong operational and financial management skills, including workforce planning, budget and KPI management, business planning, and rostering across acute and community health settings.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to foster a positive safety culture, lead multidisciplinary teams, support workforce development, and contribute to after-hours on-call responsibilities.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $173,368 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $70.58 - $76.63 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
