About us:

Our Community Care Unit provides medium to long-term mental health rehabilitation in a supported residential environment for adults aged 18–64 who are working towards greater independence. The multidisciplinary team partners with residents to build confidence and everyday living skills, including medication management, cooking, shopping, community participation, education and employment pathways.

Staff also support families and carers while connecting residents with additional services and community organisations. Purpose-built with 20 self-contained units and shared spaces for education, recreation and social connection, the service provides a safe, recovery-focused environment that empowers people to transition back to independent living.

About the role:

  • Coordinate shifts and support the day-to-day operation of the Community Care Unit in the absence of the Clinical Nurse, ensuring safe, high-quality consumer care.
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating recovery-focused care in line with professional and mental health standards.
  • Support workforce capability through participation in staff induction, transition, education and professional development activities.
  • Maintain contemporary clinical knowledge and actively engage in performance development, appraisal and continuous improvement processes.

About you:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and a valid annual practising certificate is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of recovery-focused mental health care with the skills to deliver safe, routine clinical practice.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with government and non-government partners.
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills to deliver high-quality adult mental health services.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice, while supporting the learning and growth of others.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $107,672 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $44.06 - $56.51 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
