About your opportunity

As an Operating Theatre Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting our multidisciplinary perioperative team to deliver safe, efficient and patient-focused care across a busy 15-theatre operating complex. Working closely with nursing, medical and surgical staff, you will contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the theatre environment while helping to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.

This hands-on role involves assisting with the safe transfer and positioning of patients, supporting clinical procedures under direction, maintaining theatre equipment, and ensuring operating theatres and associated areas are cleaned and prepared in accordance with Queensland Health and Infection Control standards. You will also assist with stock management, equipment checks, and other operational support duties that contribute to the efficient functioning of Perioperative Services.

The role requires a strong commitment to teamwork, workplace safety and patient-centred care. It involves frequent manual handling activities, including lifting and moving patients and equipment, with comprehensive manual handling training provided.

This is a continuous shift work position, with staff working a rotating roster across morning, afternoon and night shifts, ensuring the provision of high-quality support services 24 hours a day.

If you are a reliable, motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and enjoys making a meaningful contribution to patient care, we encourage you to apply.
