We're excited to welcome a Clinical Nurse to our Surgical Inpatient Unit 4B at Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

The Clinical Nurse's (CN) role is to lead and deliver person centred nursing care at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registered Nurse Standards for Practice. The CN is expected to be able to practice autonomously and provide leadership in clinical decision making. They have the responsibility for professional leadership in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7 and an opportunity to work collaboratively to lead practice changes and clinical innovation.

IPU 4B is a 32 bed, acute inpatient mixed general surgical, thoracic, trauma inpatient unit at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH), located on level four of the main building.
The Clinical Nurse reports to the 4B Nurse Unit Manager.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
• Pre and post-operative care for complex surgical patients.
• This position requires you to adhere to National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and the Sunshine Coast Health Safe Care Framework, which has been developed in collaboration with staff, consumers and key stakeholders to enable our vision of health and wellbeing through person-centred care.
• Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service Values.

Salary rates: $57.48- $61.55 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (NRG6(1)) (Permanent Part-time, 56 hours p.f) Applications will remain current for 12 months.
