About the role

Deliver high-quality, evidence-based Speech Pathology services within the Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS), supporting patients and families across inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings. Working as part of an interprofessional team, you will provide assessment, intervention, and management for a diverse rehabilitation caseload, contributing to positive patient outcomes and person-centred care.

You will apply clinical knowledge and professional judgement to support patients with communication and swallowing needs, while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families. The role also offers opportunities to contribute to student supervision, clinical education, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development within one of Australia's leading rehabilitation services.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Deliver evidence-based Speech Pathology services across inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings
  • Manage and prioritise clinical caseloads while applying sound clinical judgement and decision-making skills
  • Work collaboratively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve person-centred rehabilitation outcomes
  • Contribute to student education, supervision, mentoring, and the development of less experienced staff
  • Participate in quality improvement, professional development, and service enhancement activities
