About the opportunity:
Joyce Palmer Health Service (JPHS) consists of an Emergency Department, 15 bed inpatient unit, renal dialysis services and home care services. Primary health care services are provided by the Palm Island Community Company (PICC). Townsville HHS does provide oral health, community mental health, midwifery services (antenatal and post-natal services) and specialist outreach services. Joyce Palmer Health Service promotes and supports an integrated service provision across all aspects of care, aiming to achieve appropriate and timely access to care for all residents of Palm Island.
The purpose of this position is to provide high quality, evidence-based nursing care to the people of Palm Island. This will include working in all areas of emergency and inpatient services.

Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Salary range: $3348.80 to $4295.40 p.f. (NG5)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Travel: Travel by light aircraft may be required.
- Accommodation: On-site single accommodation will be provided for the successful applicant.
- Rural and Remote Incentive Package (RANIP): Successful applicant may be eligble for RANIP.
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
Requirements:
- Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration (AHPRA).
- Mandatory: Extensive experience in Emergency Department.
- Mandatory - Adult Life Support certificate: Must obtain and maintain an annual competency in Advanced Life Support as per THHSCLI040151 Life Support Training and Assessment
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
