We're excited to welcome an Assistant in Nursing to our Older Person's Mental Health Inpatient Unit, Mental Health Specialised Services at Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Birtinya.
The Assistant in Nursing (AIN) provides person centred nursing care within a dynamic health environment. They are required to perform a range of duties that require basic skills, knowledge, training and experience.
Waratah (older persons acute mental health unit) is a specialist 20 bed geriatric mental health ward that provides care for consumers primarily over the age of 65, providing comprehensive assessment, treatment and a recovery based approach for consumers living with conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia-related behavioural and psychological issues; alongside complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Adhere to quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) – State 2015 – Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 1, Band 1 and the Queensland Public Service values.
- Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
Salary between $69 499 - $76 097 p.a. or $2663.00 - $2916.80 p.f. (f/t) or salary rates: $35.05 - $38.37 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 1) (Multiple Permanent and/ or Fixed Term Temporary Full-time and/ or Part-time positions available, hours negotiable. ).
