About the role
The Occupational Violence Prevention Advisor plays a key role in promoting and supporting occupational violence prevention initiatives across Metro North Health. Working closely with clinical and non-clinical staff, volunteers, students and visiting personnel, the role contributes to creating safer workplaces through the delivery of education, consultation, auditing and risk management activities.
The successful candidate will work with departments and facilities to develop and implement occupational violence prevention strategies, undertake audits and inspections, analyse incident and workforce data, and provide specialist advice to managers and staff. The role also contributes to policy development, incident reviews, research projects and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to support a proactive approach to workplace safety.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Deliver occupational violence prevention education, training and support to staff across a diverse healthcare environment.
- Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments to identify improvement opportunities and strengthen workplace safety systems.
- Analyse workplace injury, incident and workforce data to establish risk profiles and prioritise prevention activities.
- Provide expert advice and consultancy services on occupational violence prevention legislation, policies, procedures and best practice.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of occupational violence prevention initiatives, projects and continuous improvement activities.
