We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of statewide public health policies and strategies to prevent, manage and respond to communicable diseases, improve health equity, and reduce pressure on the healthcare system.

In this role, you will lead statewide collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including First Nations stakeholders and Queensland Government agencies, to deliver evidence-based, client-centred public health solutions. You will oversee a dedicated team focused on strategic priorities such as health equity, communicable disease prevention, and preparedness for communicable disease incidents and threats.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing high-level leadership and strategic direction in public health policy.
• Building and maintaining effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
• Developing and implementing policies that address complex public health challenges and inequities.
• Delivering expert advice to influence statewide policy and innovative health interventions.
• Managing a team to foster continuous improvement, cultural awareness, and accountability.
