Our Purpose:
Queensland's hospital system is facing greater demand and pressure than ever before. This is driven by our growing and ageing population, and compounded by pressures on primary, aged and disability care. To help address this, Health Infrastructure Queensland (HIQ), in partnership with Hospital and Health Services (HHS), is leading the biggest hospital expansion program Queensland has ever seen.
The program includes building three new hospitals, expanding 11, upgrading rural and regional health facilities and delivering thousands of new hospital beds. This is intended to be the first tranche of a 15-year program of infrastructure investments. You will forge a new sustainable delivery model and contribute to the delivery of projects that ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders – what could be more rewarding than that?
About the role
Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Regional and Rural Delivery, this role is responsible for managing multidisciplinary teams and strategic partnerships, overseeing a diverse portfolio of health infrastructure projects, with a key focus on delivering multiple regional and rural initiatives that enhance healthcare access and outcomes for communities across Queensland.
Recognising the State's ageing health assets and vast geography, sparse populations, and environmental factors that create barriers to equitable healthcare access, the Queensland Government has prioritised regional and rural equity through significant capital investment. This investment in Queensland's regional and rural communities will expand and replace facilities and deliver new facilities to boost equity in access to healthcare services. As the Senior Director, Regional and Rural Delivery, you will play a critical role delivering on the Government's vision and investment.
You will shape organisational direction and provide high-level advice to senior stakeholders and the Executive Team, ensuring risk management and successful project outcomes. You will be expected to work collaboratively across agencies to deliver programs and resolve complex issues in a whole of Government context.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and high-level program management skills, including developing organisational project management frameworks and methodologies
- Provide strategic oversight for the entire portfolio of projects
- Oversee program governance, risk management, and compliance at an organisational level
- Provide strategic financial oversight for the entire portfolio of projects, developing and managing project-related financial strategies
- Provide strategic oversight for all public correspondence and messaging
If you are an experienced infrastructure leader with a passion for delivering complex health capital projects across regional and rural communities throughout the State, we encourage you to apply, including:
- Your current resume, including 2 work referees from the last 2 years (preferably your current, immediate, or past supervisor)
- A cover letter (maximum 1-2 pages) including:
- What is your motivation to join HIQ?
- How your skills, experience, knowledge and personal qualities enable you to achieve the key role requirements
