About the role
Casual student trainee opportunity performing a range of medical imaging support activities and ‘on the job' skills development while engaging in formal full-time/part-time tertiary studies necessary to acquire the relevant entry level qualification (mandatory) for employment as a radiographer in Queensland.
Under the direct guidance and supervision of a qualified radiographer, the Radiographer Trainee delivers clinical services commensurate with experience and within the agreed scope of the role as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health. These services are delivered in accordance with the goals, policies, and requirements of the The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH), Metro North Health (MNH).
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Actively continue to pursue education and training through an Australian accredited program of study leading to Registration in the profession.
- Under supervision, perform Radiography examinations and associated tasks in accordance with Department Imaging Standing orders, work unit guidelines, professional accreditation standards and relevant Queensland Health policies
- Work within a clinical scope of practice that is aligned with the level of knowledge and technical skill of current tertiary studies.
- Work under the guidance of Registered Radiographer to develop knowledge, skills and expertise in Medical Imaging Services. (including patient identification and procedure matching, patient positioning, exposure factor selection, and image acquisition) in accordance with professional and ethical standards, department protocols and radiation safety policies.
