About us:
Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM) provides planning, construction, operation and maintenance of all Health Service physical facilities, engineering systems, plant and equipment to meet strategic objectives within a quality environment. IAM is staffed with professional, trade operational, and administrative staff.
Trades include electrical, fitting, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration, trade assistants and apprentices. The unit is accountable for facility maintenance and asset management in CHHHS and ensures all clinical and administrative buildings are compliant with statutory checks and inspections necessary to comply with Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards. IAM provides 24-hour corrective maintenance and breakdown service for the facilities around the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service.

About your opportunity:
In this position you will….
- Complete all work assignments including delivery of Planned Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance and Reactive Maintenance activities. These work assignments also include minor new works approved by the facility, equipment replacements and new installations as required. Works are to be completed based on priorities and schedules issued by Trade Coordinator or Maintenance Manager.
- Demonstrate a proactive willingness to undertake any training or skill development deemed necessary to support the role and business needs.
- Comply with and utilise policies, procedures, regulations and standards which impact on the position, including contemporary human resource management requirements and practices including Code of Conduct, Equal Employment Opportunity and anti-discrimination policies.
- Liaise with and work with staff, other government agencies and private contractors to ensure work is undertaken with minimal disruption to clients and other staff.
