Join the team that keeps pathology services running 24/7. As a Continuous Shift Clinical Assistant at Pathology Queensland's TPCH Core Laboratory, you'll play a vital role in delivering a high-quality Central Specimen Reception (CSR) service.

Job details

Working across day, evening and overnight shifts, you'll perform a broad range of pre-analytical duties including specimen receipt, registration and processing, while also supporting specimen collection and general laboratory operations as required.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

• Demonstrated experience in or the ability to rapidly learn pre-analytical processes in a complex specimen reception/specimen collection unit.
• Demonstrated experience in or the ability to acquire experience in the correct procedures of specimen reception/specimen collection including the application of established policies and guidelines with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated high level skills, or the ability to rapidly acquire high level skills, in the use of Microsoft Office applications and the laboratory information system (AUSLAB).
• Ability to efficiently prioritise workloads, show initiative, problem solve and work effectively without direct supervision.
• Proven ability to work effectively as a team member and to communicate effectively with clients, clinical staff and colleagues, including the ability to work across the TPCH Group Laboratories.
• Demonstrated ability to participate in quality and service improvement activities in accordance with National Association of Testing Authority/International Standardisation Organisation (NATA/ISO) accreditation / certification.
