About the Team
This position will work alongside another 0.8FTE senior psychologist within the oncology service. The oncology service includes medical specialists (Consultant, Fellow, Registrar and Resident), nursing (Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Consultants and Clinical Nurses) and Allied Health Professionals (Psychology, Procedural Care Occupational Therapy). All other Allied Health services are provided by the relevant departments within the hospital. Within the broader Oncology Services Group, there are also dedicated psychosocial positions within Haematology/Haemophilia, Youth Cancer and Paediatric Palliative Care services.
About the Role
The position of Senior Psychologist (Oncology Services) will:
- Deliver high level evidence based clinical psychology services as part of a multi-disciplinary team to optimise psychosocial outcomes for the patients of the Oncology Services.
- Provide professional leadership and management in the co-ordination and delivery of psychology services under the direction of the Allied Health Clinical Leader (Oncology Services) and actively participate in research, teaching and training and service development/improvement.
