About the role
As a Clinical Nurse within the Integrated Cancer Research Collaborative (I-CARE), you will play a pivotal role in delivering advanced clinical care while supporting innovative cancer research and clinical trials. Working closely with patients, clinicians, researchers, and study sponsors, you will help ensure research participants receive safe, high-quality, evidence-based care throughout their clinical trial journey. This role combines hands-on patient care with research coordination responsibilities, including participant screening and recruitment, study implementation, patient education, data and documentation management, and ongoing clinical monitoring.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Apply advanced clinical nursing expertise, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to deliver a high standard of consumer/patient centred care of patients participating in clinical trial/s.
- Respond appropriately to and provide support and direction to manage sudden alterations in the health status of the consumer/patient using advanced nursing assessment and intervention skills.
- Provide advice, education and support to patients and the families of patients involved in research / clinical trials to facilitate informed decision making.
- Support an evidence-based learning environment and participate in learning activities/opportunities for self and others.
