A six month fixed term temporary opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist or Psychologist or Social Worker in the Rockhampton Community Services Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs team.

As part of the multi-disciplinary team, you will provide discipline specific case management to consumers as well as support for carers/families. About us:

Rockhampton is the principal service centre for this area and as such provides the medical coverage, professional supervision, and administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016, support for accreditation and implementation of programs as well as acute inpatient facilities for the Central Queensland Mental Health teams. Rockhampton Mental Health Service Inpatient Unit, Older Persons Inpatient Unit and Acute Care Team are located on the campus of Rockhampton Hospital.

About the role:

  • Provides clinical mental health service to consumers, families and carers and the wider community at an advanced level, using evidenced-based practice, to ensure a high standard of mental health care.
  • Provides clinical leadership for staff within the Community Services Team. This includes collaborating with the Team Manager on provision of orientation and induction for new staff, day-to-day supervision, and support and performance management (including PAD).
  • Provide clinical input regarding consumer management to allow appropriate transition through the service from triage to discharge back to the community.
  • Work towards improving consumer outcomes; facilitate access to specific services; enhance health literacy with a focus on improving the patient journey as they transition through mental health services and back to the community.

About you:

Hold qualifications and registration with the appropriate registration authority to practice in any of the following:

  • Occupational Therapy
  • Psychology
  • Social Work

Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be highly desirable.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $13,113 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
