Expressions of Interest are open for experienced Dental Assistants to join our team.
This is an ongoing talent pipeline to be used to fill Casual full-time and part-time vacancies at Sunshine Coast Health (SCH).
Applications will be reviewed and considered if and when vacancies are identified.

Dental Assistanst will assist in providing adult and Paediatric dental services within fixed and mobile facilities located in hospital, community and school environments by using high level dental assisting skills.
The Dental Assistant reports to the Senior Dental Assistant.
Oral Health services are provided to patient groups that meet the eligibility criteria for accessing public dental services in Queensland.
Adult services are provided at clinics located at Caloundra, Kawana, Nambour, Noosa and Gympie and the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. A mobile facility provides additional adult services at Maleny and Gympie.
School based services are provided at fixed clinics located at Caloundra, Maroochydore and Nambour and at 14 mobile dental clinics distributed across the HHS.
Oral Health Services are part of SCHHS Community and Preventive Health (CPH). CPH is a diverse group of service units delivering care and interventions outside the acute hospital setting in most cases. These services comprise all aspects of the care and life continuum including population health, prevention, early detection, management, reducing disease progression and complications, rehabilitation and end of life care. Services are delivered in a variety of settings such as residential aged care facilities, community-based centres, satellite and outreach services, mobile vans, hospitals and in people's homes.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide clinical support to clinicians in the surgery or work unit, including Chair side assisting, retraction, evacuation, preparation of materials and medicaments by providing high quality Dental Assisting.
- Provide technical services to clinical staff by operating and maintaining the instruments and equipment of the facility.
- Provide support to patients of all ages by ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Provide a practice management duty, which includes receiving patients and filing when necessary.
Salary rates: $43.16 - $45.37 p.h. employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) (CA3) (casual positions available) Applications will remain current for 12 months.
