About the Team
The Queensland Paediatric Cardiac Service (QPCS) is a multidisciplinary service dedicated to designing, developing and delivering state of the art models of care for children with childhood acquired and congenital heart disease, ensuring high quality medical and quality of life outcomes for the patient and family's life journey.
CHD LIFE (Congenital Heart Disease Long-term Improvement in Functional Health) is a partnership program under the governance of Queensland Paediatric Cardiac Service (QPCS) and Queensland Paediatric Cardiac Research (QPCR). The program mission is to improve long-term functional health outcomes in children with CHD at risk of adverse developmental outcomes and their families through developmental screening/assessment, raising awareness, facilitating early intervention, conducting research and training professionals. QPCS Fetal Cardiac Service provides a multidisciplinary, cross-campus diagnostic, counselling, and supportive service to families where a diagnosis of CHD is suspected/confirmed.
About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the speciality of Fetal Cardiology and the CHD LIFE Program. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides direct and indirect care as required and works in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Educator and wider health care team to support the clinical unit in provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialties of Fetal Cardiology and the CHD LIFE Program.

- Advanced level of decision making in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Undertake operational leadership.
- Work collectively to apply the principals of clinical governance.
- Apply professional and clinical expertise in collaboration with nursing and multi-disciplinary stakeholders.
- Responsible for enacting strategies that support a work-based culture that promotes and supports education, learning, research and workforce development.
