What you'll do

As the ICT Procurement and Contract Manager, you will provide expert ICT procurement and contract management services across the division, including the development and management of QITC contracts. You will lead sourcing and procurement activities from planning through to contract negotiation and execution, ensuring compliance with procurement legislation, policies and whole-of-government initiatives. Working closely with stakeholders across Queensland Health and government agencies, you will support strategic priorities, manage supplier and contract performance, and oversee the review and renewal of ICT contracts to ensure they continue to meet business needs. You will also develop operational plans, performance measures and reporting requirements, maintain robust procurement records to support probity and audit requirements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives through mentoring, training and capability development. In addition, you will build and sustain strong stakeholder relationships, represent Queensland Health in procurement and contract management forums, and ensure all services are delivered in accordance with quality, workplace health and safety, and governance standards.

About you

We are searching for someone who has:

  • Focuses strategically, understands the organisation's objectives and aligns operational activities accordingly. Demonstrates high level conceptual and analytical skills with the capacity to identify and analyse complex issues and develop quality procurement options and strategies. (SFIA Skill: PROC:  Level 5)
  • Establishes clear plans and timeframes for project implementation and outlines specific activities. Demonstrated experience to lead the development and implementation of category management, procurement sourcing and contract management strategies. (NHS: Effective and Strategic Influencing).
  • Builds and sustains relationships with a network of key people internally and externally and demonstrates capacity and experience in the management of staff to deliver high quality procurement outcomes in keeping with wider strategy objectives. (SFIA Skill: SURE:  Level 5)
  • Confidently presents messages in a clear, concise and articulate manner by using highly developed written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate persuasively with stakeholders and advise clients and senior management on procurement planning, sourcing and contract management strategies. (NHS: Collaborative Working).
