The position of Emergency Nursing Rosters Administration Officer will: • Plan, initiate and co-ordinate the development of the Emergency Department Nursing Roster; • Manage, approve and action nursing leave requests along with the Nursing Leave Planner; • Provide an advanced level of roster and payroll knowledge and support; • Lead/manage the Directorate Support Officers and Emergency Administration Officers in the absence of the Emergency Administration Manager, where required.

About the Team

Our Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We care for approximately 70,000 children and young people every year, treating a range of conditions, from acute injuries and illnesses to life-threatening conditions.

About the Role

In this role you will utilise CHQ's resources to maximise the positive impact we have for children, young people and families (Leader of Function) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:

  • Plan, initiate and co-ordinate the development and publishing of the Emergency Nursing Roster and the roster request template utilising the Hospital Roster System (HRS) and the Integrated Workforce Management (IWFM) tool, liaising with the Nursing Leadership team to enable equitable and consistent creation and management of nursing rosters in line with industrial awards and agreements.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage and approve non-emergent Nursing Leave Requests via myHR whilst maintaining safe and adequate staffing levels, in conjunction with the Business Practice Framework. Manage routine and long term leave relief arrangements in consultation with NUM and ANUM.
  • Maintain Emergency Nursing Annual Leave Planner.
  • Plan, initiate and co-ordinate the Nursing zone allocations, ensuring the skill mix requirements align with the staffing platform.
  • Plan and co-ordinate the rostering of Orientation, Onboarding and Professional Development for all Emergency Nursing staff.
