Provide crisis and emergency mental health services to children and young people in the West Moreton region! The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) is a Registered Nurse who is recognised as an advanced level practitioner with expertise to ensure effective service delivery within the speciality area of the CYMHS unit. This role delivers high level profession-specific clinical services and leadership as a member of a multidisciplinary team to achieve better health outcomes for consumers with severe and complex mental health issues in a community-based child and youth mental health setting.

What we're looking for
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Experience in the management and leadership required in a child and youth mental health service to enable the applicant to undertake the Clinical Nurse Consultant role within the Intake Team.
- Demonstrated ability to provide authoritative counsel and clinical expertise in clinical assessments and intervention to children, adolescents, parents/guardians, their families and other support systems. Specific knowledge and skills in Systemic Family Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and/or the treatment of eating disorders, would be highly regarded.
- Works collaboratively within a complex stakeholder and system framework with internal Queensland Health services including external government, non-government and private health sector service providers to achieve the optimum outcomes for the client.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective clinical and operational leadership in quality improvement, service evaluation and research initiatives.
- Exemplifies the West Moreton Health Professional Practice Model by demonstrating person-centred care, professional excellence, safe and effective care delivery, commitment to quality and safety, and collaborative practice.
Mandatory Requirements
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Possession of a relevant post graduate qualification (e.g. Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Masters Degree) or evidence of enrolment in such a program is essential for this role.
