About the role
Permanent part time opportunity to provide high quality, evidence based physiotherapy clinical services for neonates and children with respiratory, neurological, developmental and orthopaedic conditions within Redcliffe Hospital and Metro North Hospital and Health Service (MNHHS). Furthermore, in this role you will provide supervision, consultancy and education in neonatal and paediatric physiotherapy management for other physiotherapists.This role is responsible for providing clinical education to undergraduate students
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Independently deliver a high level physiotherapy service to a highly diverse, complex and novel caseload of neonatal and paediatric patients managed in the Special Care Nursery, paediatric wards and outpatient clinics (which may include treatment, examination, investigation, diagnosis, and case management). This includes, but is not limited to, DDH clinic, club foot clinic, SOPD orthopaedic support, normal variance and infant musculoskeletal including talipes.
- Exercise high level independent decision making and problem solving informed by evidenced based practice, and contribute to an integrated multidisciplinary team approach.
- Utilize high level communication and negotiation skills with patients and their families, other health professionals, referrers, and students.
- Monitor and report on clinical practices and outcomes within specialist clinical service areas, and advocate for service improvements that enhance the delivery of physiotherapy services across Redcliffe and the wider MNHHS, utilising identification and application of guidelines and business improvement plans.
