In this role as the trade plumber, you will be required to maintain assets including hot and cold-water pumps, line reticulation, LP gas equipment, tapware and valves, basins/sinks, stormwater and sewage runoff, bore water installations, toilet fixtures and fittings, as directed by the Trade Coordinator.Job details

About us:
Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM) provides planning, construction, operation and maintenance of all Health Service physical facilities, engineering systems, plant and equipment to meet strategic objectives within a quality environment. IAM is staffed with professional, trade operational, and administrative staff. Trades include electrical, fitting, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration, trade assistants and apprentices.
The unit is accountable for facility maintenance and asset management in CHHHS and ensures all clinical and administrative buildings are compliant with statutory checks and inspections necessary to comply with Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards. IAM provides 24-hour corrective maintenance and breakdown service for the facilities around the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service

About your opportunity:
In this position you will….
- Work with apprentices, trade assistants, external trade contractors and other staff ensuring specifications and quality standards are met.
- Assist management to assess the need for repair or replacement of plant, equipment and provide technical information, support and advice when required.
- Be required to work a mix of inside core hours service delivery, outside core hours delivery and rotating on call 24/7 roster to meet the requirements of the facilities.
- Demonstrate a proactive willingness to undertake any training or skill development deemed necessary to support the role and business needs.
