About the role

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager works collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager within the Department of Medical Imaging at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital to support clinical governance, operational leadership and the delivery of high-quality patient-centred care. The role provides advanced nursing leadership and contributes to maintaining professional standards, service excellence and a positive workplace culture that promotes learning, workforce development and research.

The successful candidate will support the coordination and supervision of nursing staff across the Medical Imaging Departments at both RBWH and STARS, applying advanced clinical expertise and leadership to ensure safe, effective and evidence-based care. The role also contributes to workforce planning, quality improvement activities, education initiatives and service development to achieve optimal patient and organisational outcomes.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide advanced clinical nursing leadership and expertise to support the delivery of safe, high-quality and patient-centred care within Medical Imaging services.
  • Support the Nurse Unit Manager in monitoring clinical practice standards, workforce management and the effective use of human, financial and material resources.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes professional development, lifelong learning, research and evidence-based practice.
  • Lead and contribute to quality improvement, policy review and service development initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and operational performance.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to support clinical governance, workforce capability and the achievement of service goals.
