The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Social Workers to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Utilise knowledge and understanding of the biopsychosocial framework of practice
- Routinely apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision
- Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning
- Utilise communication and problem-solving skills to work collaboratively and effectively
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A tertiary degree in Social Work
- Eligibility for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Driver Licence
- Paid Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time, Permanent part time, temporary full time and temporary part time (up to six months with possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $80,015 - $116,189 per annum, $3,067.00 - $4,453.50 per fortnight or $40.35 - $58.59 per hour

The Specialist Palliative Care Service (SPCS) provides compassionate, world-class care to meet the specialist palliative care needs of consumers within Gold Coast Health. In addition, SPCS leads several statewide services and projects. Our services span community, inpatient, outpatient, residential aged care, consultancy, and telehealth settings.
